I guess I didn’t have any expectations for this experience, just overjoyed and beyond grateful to know where we came from. But my reaction to stepping foot on this very place was the furthest thing from what I would have expected. I recall stepping out of Antti’s vehicle into the snow on the land which was now home to an old abandoned schoolhouse. We walked to the rivers edge, where he pointed across the way showing me the land in which the old map had shown was once Johan’s. Goosebumps crawled across my entire being and I involuntarily started to weep - and wept without ceasing.

I’d like to share with you a family recipe - a traditional Finnish oven pancake, better known as Pannu Kakku. It’s a thick, oven-baked pancake with crispy edges and custard like interior. And also incredibly easy to make coming together in just minutes! Smother it in maple syrup and/or, my personal favorite, top with fresh berries and cinnamon, but really the possibilities are endless once you discover this delicious recipe - a true delight to your taste buds!

Continental Divide Brew Pub, LLC opened their doors February of 2024 in the center of New York Mills, MN - our hometown! I approached this re-imagined facade pre-opening, which was now totally unrecognizable to me, to document its transformation and I was struck in awe at it’s new appearance. As I walked through the door I entered an entirely new world and was completely blown away by the incredible flip of this historic building. The place I once indulged in the world’s best donuts was now home to a brick oven pizza pub. It almost seemed surreal. Locals and travelers alike now have another place in Mills that offers a comfortable space to eat while gathering in family, friendships and good times.

Celeste emits a bright and warm personality. She offers a peaceful and safe space for her clients to heal in body, mind and soul while also giving mothers, a time they especially deserve, a space of calmness and healing (even when the babies and children are present).
